Khándroma was launched in 2007 by Stefan, Simon, Moritz and Tilman. During the conception the first album "Exposition" the band's music was quite eclectic, but influences of the progressive rock of the 60s and 70s could strongly be felt. The vocals played an important part during that time.
After Johannes took over to replace the electric bass with a synthesizer and Christian joined the band as a singer, rapper and percussionist in 2009, elements of hip-hop and electronic music were integrated into Khándroma's music. The stylistic diversity of the band's second album, "Fetzen", notably encompasses hip-hop, dub, jazz and metal.
The third album, "Turbulenzen", is an instrumental record and features Philipp as the new bass player. It includes elements from jazz, progressive rock, funk and electronic dance music, but already marks the way for the band's future development towards a more concise musical style with minimalistic influences.
Since 2013 the saxophone has become a fixture of the band's new lineup and electronic sounds have taken a step back.
